Antigone Productions and United Blade Entertainment are proud to announce that our independent feature film HOSTAGE has taken home the prestigious Best Feature Film award at the Indie Vegas Film Festival 2026 (also known as the Las Vegas Indie Film Festival).
Directed by John David Harris and starring Dalton Santos, Sam Franke, Patrick Grimaldo, George Maxey, and Derek Casper, HOSTAGE is a raw, intense crime thriller that dives deep into themes of loyalty, betrayal, and survival. The story follows three childhood friends entangled in the dangerous underbelly of organized crime—where one wrong decision can cost everything. Told in a single, claustrophobic location with a lean cast and crew, the film delivers maximum tension through sharp performances and unrelenting psychological pressure.
This win is a powerful validation of what independent filmmaking is all about: heart, hustle, and uncompromising vision.
Independent Filmmaking at Its Purest
HOSTAGE was created with minimal resources but boundless passion. No massive studio backing. No sprawling sets. Just a committed team that refused to compromise on quality or authenticity. The result is a gripping character-driven story that proves big emotions and high stakes don’t require big budgets—they require talent, creativity, and determination.
A standout contributor to the film’s success was Director of Photography Demetry Ramos-Davis. His masterful cinematography brought the story’s soul to life, using inventive lighting, precise framing, and a moody visual language that turned one location into an emotional pressure cooker. Every shadow and silence feels intentional, heightening the suspense and drawing audiences deeper into the characters’ moral collapse.
